Strictly Salsa, Latin and Ballroom Adult Dance Classes

The adult classes offer an opportunity to learn a range of dances featured on the BBC1 hit show ‘Strictly Come Dancing’. You will learn the basics of dances such as Cha Cha Cha, Samba, Tango, Waltz and Salsa gradually progressing to more advanced steps.

The classes have a friendly atmosphere and the ethos is to ‘Get fit the fun way’. The classes are open to men and women of all ages and everyone is welcome regardless of experience or ability. You don’t need a partner, just a sense of humour and some comfy shoes!

Adults also have the opportunity to participate in NCDTA examinations. A number of adults from the School recently undertook NCDTA examinations and were extremely proud of their ‘Honours with Distinction’ grades.

Mini Stars (aged 3–4 yrs)

4.30 – 5.00pm, Mondays (term-time only)

This dance class is aimed at pre-school children. The class compromises of a mixture of song, dance and movement activities.  As well as enhancing the children’s dancing ability the class also develops confidence, co-ordination and teamwork in preparation for School.

The children follow the NCDTA nursery syllabus and have the opportunity to participate in Nursery Awards and our Annual Showcase.

Little Stars (aged 5–7 yrs)

5.00 – 5.45pm, Mondays (term-time only)

Little stars follow the NCDTA syllabus in Classical sequence, Ballroom and Latin with the view to participating in examinations, competitions and our annual showcase.  The class incorporates traditional music as well as music from the children’s favourite pop stars.

Dancing Stars (aged 8 yrs +)

5.45 – 6.30pm, Mondays (term-time only)

Similarly to the Little Stars class, this class offers tuition in Ballroom, Latin American, Classical Sequence and Salsa based on the syllabus of the Northern Counties Dance Teachers. The pupils in this class train for examinations, competitions and our annual Christmas showcase as well as getting involved in community based projects wherever possible.
