About

Romero School of Dance was established in 2009 and offers dance classes in Classical sequence, Ballroom, Latin and Salsa to both Children and Adults.

Romero School of Dance is ran by Lindsay Romero who has twenty five years of dance experience. Lindsay began her dancing career at the age of three and participated in Ballet, Tap, Stage and Disco but when she discovered Ballroom and Latin at the age of five it was this style of dance that she excelled in.

Lindsay successfully completed all of the amateur NCDTA examination syllabi in Classical sequence, Ballroom and Latin and competed both locally and nationally winning numerous championships throughout her dancing career.

After retiring from her competitive dance career Lindsay focused on academia obtaining both a Bachelor and Masters Degree however, dancing was not far from her mind.  Lindsay returned to Newcastle Dance Centre where she earlier trained as a competitor, to pursue her teaching qualifications.  After obtaining her Associate teaching qualification through the NCDTA and achieving Honours with Distinction, Lindsay opened Romero School of Dance.

Lindsay Romero firmly believes that dancing can play a fundamental role in the development of young people in terms of developing social skills co-ordination and confidence as well as enabling them to interact with other young people. She also firmly believes that young people should be recognised for their achievements and so will actively seek to train students to a high level to enable them to reach their full potential and attain high grades in both examinations and competitions.
